Gingerbread, Disney Style

One of the reasons people go back to Disneyland and Disney World over and over again is that they’re always changing.  There is always something new to see, especially around various holidays.  This year, in the Grand Canyon Concourse of Disney World’s Contemporary Resort in Florida there is a 17-foot tall gingerbread tree.  Not a wooden tree that just kinda looks like it’s made of gingerbread but a real, honest-to-yummy-goodness gingerbread tree.

Now, if you’re a fan of the Disney parks, this sort of magic is nothing out of the ordinary; the most amazing things happen on a regular basis.  Still, you might wonder how such a delicious achievement is accomplished.  Luckily, over at the Disney Parks blog, Thomas Smith, the Social Media Director for the Disney Parks, has posted a time-lapse video of the construction of the tree.

Although it took three days (and 1200 man-hours) to make, the video condenses it down to just over a minute.  Even if you’ve no intention of visiting the park this holiday season, it’s a fun video to watch and shows off the impressive amount of effort Disney puts into making a visit to the Disney parks a truly unique experience.
